69 Days To Go!

Our Love Story

Jonathan (Jon Jon) and Jailyn’s (Jai) story began in the halls of St. John’s College High School in Washington, DC, where they met as freshmen in their 9th-grade English class. While Jonathan would bother Jailyn at 8:10 am every single morning with questions about what games she was willing to play on her iPad during class, they quickly found out they had a lot in common. They even spent every afternoon together at track practice, where Jailyn’s father was the coach (though Jailyn was much faster than Jonathan at the time).

What started as a familiar friendship slowly grew into something much deeper. By their junior year, they had become inseparable. They talked every single day and built a bond that quickly became a part of their everyday lives. Whether it was going to parties, grabbing food, or working out together, they were always side by side. But despite this bond at this time, they would both swear that they were just really good friends.

After high school, life took them in different directions. Jonathan ran track at York College of Pennsylvania, and Jailyn ran at Towson University in Maryland, but distance never changed their connection. They kept up their daily routine of texting, FaceTiming, and the occasional snap streak.

A few years later, when the world slowed down during COVID-19, everything seemed to fall into place. Jonathan and his family moved just five minutes away from Jailyn, and for the first time, they were able to spend even more time together.

That summer, Jonathan invited Jailyn to work alongside him and his cousin Dakota at a camp Jonathan was managing. Spending all day, every day together from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, their friendship finally turned into a relationship, and since December 2020, they’ve been inseparable.

Since then, they’ve taken on life hand in hand. Moving from the DMV area in July 2024, getting engaged that same year, and starting a new chapter together in Houston, Texas. Through every transition, their love and friendship have remained constant, while they continue building their life together.

They are so excited for all that’s ahead, especially building a family and spending forever side by side. ❤️
